currently providing allergy information. Our emphasis is on supplementing information given by
health professionals in the areas of prevention and self-care,
and helping you to make appropriate decisions about health care services.
Librarians and health professionals will also find this guide to be a useful reference.
Best Books provides in-depth reviews of 13 books, including three cookbooks.
Books in this section were the best we were able to find that met the criteria of depth, quality, accuracy,
authoritativeness, objectvity, currency and self-care/ prevetion focus of the information.
Selected Other Books lists 45 additional books, including medical textbooks,
books that have only breif treatments of allergy,
popular allergy books that we judged less excellent than those reviewed under "Best Books,"
and new books and books recommended by other reviewers but not seen by us
and therefore not evaluated for this edition of the guide.
Resources lists eight major national organizations that provide self-help information on allergy.
Most publish newsletters or pamphlets.
